This Week in Videos: Toy Soldiers, Real Soldiers, and Cat Soldiers

Want a poster of Thomas Jefferson teaching gorillas Constitutional law?

Just like that, it’s the weekend.  And we’re here to round up the news so you don’t have to.  First, a quick giveaway PSA: we’re having a giveaway.  If you want $500 to spend at Brownells click this already.

News from outside the country was hard to hear over the craziness that’s been going on here; but we did find a journalist who followed guns into Misrata, and then there is that business about U.S. troops training Thai snipers, snipers that have a history of shooting protesters.

Here, the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife opened up new hunting regions in eight states, (CO, IA, LA, MN, MS, NC, TX, UT) and Michigan is considering amending its hunting laws to better accommodate minors.  Missouri finally lowered its conceal-carry age to 21 (from 23) and the former mayor of a town in New Mexico plead guilty to trafficking arms to Mexican drug lords, may he be the first in a long line.

In Washington, President Obama ended the practice of denying letters of condolences to the families of soldiers who have committed suicide, but also passed a quick-and-dirty extension of mandated reporting of multiple handgun sales to long guns in border states.  The NRA is politely suing pointing out that they forgot to include the states bordering Canada.

Oh and, zombies!

Finally, we played with guns.  We reviewed what is without a doubt one of the most popular .22 LR pistols, the Walther P22, a modern version of the Marlin 1895 chambered in the impressive .45-70, and Springfield’s latest and either most beautiful or puke-inspiring, nobody’s on the fence, XD(m) 5.25″ Competition 9mm.

Now it’s time for Saturday stuff.  So have a good weekend, and please shoot something.
