Man Charged with Felonies for Finger Gun Gestures

David Thomas Loveless, a 58-year-old father in Fredricksburg, VA was charged with two felonies on Tuesday for making finger gun gestures toward two city detectives.

According to city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe just prior toward making the gun gestures Loveless had made a comment about getting back at Detectives Carlos Reyes and Wayne Hunnicutt who had just testified against Loveless’ son. The gesture was reported by a city deputy who witnessed the incident, a magistrate then issued two felony warrants for assault on a law enforcement officer by intimidation. Loveless was also charged with two misdemeanor count of obstruction of justice.

Loveless’ 22-year-old son had been arrested for burglary, larceny with intent to sell, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. Deputies reported seeing the father silently mouthing words and shaking his head in response to the testimonies against his son.
