Newt Gingrich Responds to Volt Gun Rack YouTube Video

One man’s response to Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s slam of the Cheverolet Volt has left the candidate admitting you can fit a gun rack in the car but asking “where do you put the deer?”

After Gingrich’s original comments one man in Atlanta made a Youtube video in which he built a gun rack in the back of his Volt. Gingrich actually acknowledged the video to a group of supporters in Louisiana on Wednesday:

“I’ve tried to explain this psychologically, you can’t put a gun rack in a Volt,” Gingrich said, “Now to be honest there’s actually, after I said that a couple times, there’s actually a YouTube video of a guy in Atlanta, who owns a Volt, who put a gun rack in the trunk, but a friend of mine, who was a hunter down in Camilla, looked at it and said ‘yeah you can get the gun rack in the trunk, but then where do you put the deer?’”

On top of the YouTube video, General Motors CEO Daniel F. Akerson also responded to attacks on the Volt earlier this month, telling Congress, “We did not engineer the Volt to become a political punching bag.”
