Laserlyte’s Zombie Apocalypse-Themed Laser Sights for Ruger and Kel-Tec .380s and 9mms

We’re almost entirely positive this isn’t an April Fool’s joke.

Laserlyte is adding two new zombie-themed laser sights for Ruger and Kel-Tec pistols in .380 and 9mm.  These join Laserlyte’s small but growing line of zombie preparedness accessories.  These sights are particularly well-suited for Ruger’s Zombie Slayer LCP.

These laser sights are bright green to blend in with other zombie-themed firearms, firearm accessories and zombie apocalypse tools.  Internally, they are no different than many other laser sights and project a class IIIA 650 nanometer 500 milliwatt red dot that is visible from up to 500 yards away.  The other specifications are:

  • Compatible firearms: Ruger LCP, Kel-Tec P-3AT and P-32, Ruger LC9 and Kel-Tec PF9
  • Batteries: four 377 batteries
  • Battery life: 5 hrs. constant on, 10 hrs. pulse mode (normal usage)
  • Weight (with plate): .25 ounces/ 9 grams
  • Length/width/height: 3.65 in./92.71mm Width: .56 in./17.22 mm H: .380 in./9.65mm

These laser sights are palette swaps of existing Laserlyte sights, as they already manufacture the same sights in non-zombie-themed plain black for the Ruger and Kel-Tec pistols.

Also joining these zompoc-themed Laserlyte laser sights is a pistol bayonet with a fierce and serrated blade.  The bayonet mount/handle is also extremely green.

Obviously these sights are intended to help shoot these small guns accurately.  Pocket pistols have very basic sights and short sight radiuses and laser sights make it much easier to stay on-target.  We won’t question their usefulness as a whole.

But we do have to wonder how helpful concealed-carry handguns are, generally speaking, against the zombie horde.  Still, it would be a comforting backup, that we don’t doubt.  And the Ruger Zombie Slayer LCP is probably good to have in case of zombie apocalypse, as it comes with a copy of “The Zombie Survival Guide” by Max Brooks.

We’ll leave it up to you to decide if this isn’t an indication, perhaps one of many, that the zombie thing has gone too far or not.  We will say this: if you’re going to brand something as handy against a tireless and ravenous undead army, it probably should actually come in handy.

That said, do you have a Zombie Slayer LCP, and if so, is this a must have for you?  The MSRP is $100 but they’re already listed for sale from several resellers for $75 and up.
