National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day this Saturday!

This Saturday is National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day. For those of you who have daughters or sisters who aren’t too terribly thrilled about your affection for guns, this weekend will finally give you the excuse you need to get our beloved ladies to fire off a few rounds.

Haven’t you heard? More and more women are arming themselves, which means that plenty of wives, daughters and mothers are packing heat. What better time than now to grab your female family members and head down to the local shooting range?

The event has a dual purpose: to “promote firearms safety and education, as well as family bonding through participation in an exciting and fun sport.” You can’t really argue with that. The official website urges people not to get caught up too much in the name. Sure, it has “daughter” in the title, but that doesn’t mean that sons can’t take their mothers, sisters or aunts to the range as well. After all, “Take Your Female Blood Relative to the Range Day” just doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

You can support the event by participating (obviously), spreading the word through social media, or by making a donation to the non-profit organization that promotes this holiday.
