Caracal USA recently issued a safety warning and recall saying that a limited number of Caracal F and C pistols may have a trigger that could possibly discharge when dropped on a hard surface – when a round is loaded in the gun, of course.
“Although Caracal USA has not received any reports of injuries, it is initiating this voluntary recall to protect the safety of its customers because of the remote possibility of an unintentional discharge occurring,” according to the press release.
The affected Caracal pistols have serial numbers that begin with B, C, F, L, or M.
The company asks that if you have a recalled model with the specified serial number to unload the pistol and contact them immediately to arrange to have the trigger unit replaced, completely free of charge, using the following steps:
- Contact us at 205-655-7050 (Monday-Friday 8-5 Central Standard Time), or at firstname.lastname@example.org and provide the model and serial number of your pistol.
- After contacting us, we will send you a prepaid overnight shipping box with instructions so that you can return your pistol to us, free of charge.
- Your firearm will be returned as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Also, for any inconvenience the company is giving those who send in the recalled model, they will send you a free magazine when they return the pistol to you.
