Armscor bolt gun in .22 TCM

Preview of the 22 TCM bolt action rifle. It should be out by July.

Armscor, aka Rock Island Armory, just showed off this photo of a cool little .22 TCM bolt-action rifle on their Facebook Page. A new, still proprietary, but inexpensive cartridge, .22 TCM is made by necking down 9mm brass to work with .224 (.223 Remington) bullets. The result is a super high-velocity pistol cartridge that hits 2,100 FPS from a RIA’s 5-inch 1911 barrel.

A bolt gun in the same cartridge is just neato.

The .22 TCM sounds like a very interesting round. The components for reloading are more available than the 5.7mm, which "should" mean cheaper ammo. That and you basically have a rifle powered projectile in a smaller form-factor. Someone could make a very nice PDW in .22 TCM, but Armscor definitely needs to make the license cheap enough for other firearm/ammo manufacturers to jum on board.

hmm I'd take this over the 5.7. it almost sounds like they'd compete evenly (roughly) in an sbr configuration.

I wanted one badly but on the same day I found mention of the.17 Win Super Magnum.

A bolt action is acceptable for small game, but if you can come up with a semi-automatic using the same magazine as in the pistol then it can be also for home, farm or ranch use. Option for those person who are shy or incapable of using a shootgun.
