When I first looked into what makes something MIL-SPEC, I fell asleep. It’s not better, it’s not the cutting edge, it’s a bureaucratic standard. It’s the equivalent of what temperature you should cook meat to, and look how moist and delicious acceptably edible that is.

Saying something’s MIL-SPEC isn’t a bad thing, but there’s a reason the AR aftermarket is gigantic.
