It what seems like scene in an old Hollywood flick, Joel Stubleski was on a mission last year in Eastern Afghanistan when his unit came under attack. Feeling extreme pressure in his leg, Stubleski knew he had been shot. What he didn’t know was that the bullet first hit the iPhone in his pants pocket, possibly saving his life. Although he still suffered a severe wound and needed medical evacuation, medics claimed the iPhone saved Stubleski by changing the trajectory of the bullet not allowing it to travel deeper into his leg. Stubleski carries a reminder of the incident – his new iPhone has a specially made cover with a photo showing his old phone.
