Ghosts of History: Found WWII Photographs Superimposed on Current Day Street Scenes
Ghosts of History is a project produced by Dutch historian Jo Teeuwisse. Teeuwisse who finds old WWII photographs in flea markets then takes those photos and superimposes them on the current day locations.

Acireale, Sicily, 1943 Ten miles North of Catania two British Bren gunners and their assistants cover a street corner on the Via Vittorio Emmanuele II in Acireale.

Two days after the official surrender of the German forces in the Netherlands on may 5th 1945, shots were fired at civilians and British troops on Bren Carriers as they celebrated the liberation of the city. Members of the Dutch resistance and Dutch Internal forces returned fire with Stenguns.
