Ghosts of History: Found WWII Photographs Superimposed on Current Street Scenes

Ghosts of History is a project produced by Dutch historian Jo Teeuwisse. Teeuwisse who finds old WWII photographs in flea markets then takes those photos and superimposes them on the current day locations.

Two days after the official surrender of the German forces in the Netherlands on may 5th 1945, shots were fired at civilians and British troops on Bren Carriers as they celebrated the liberation of the city. Members of the Dutch resistance and Dutch Internal forces returned fire with Stenguns.

Very compelling. I have told my children, "You walk among history. There have been many here before you, those whom have walked your road, some whom have succeeded and some whom have failed, but all whom walked this road have made it easier for you to do the same. Don't waste your time on this road by not making this way better for the next who walk it after you." Thank you for making my point with these photos, I will share them with my children.

'just looked at them again. I've tried to do shots like this myself from older pictures and it is VERY difficult. You must not just match the exact location of the original photographer, but also the focal length lens that he or she was using. KUDOS!
