‘Shoot One, Please’ – A Short Documentary on Teenage Hunting (VIDEO)

Shoot One, Please is a short documentary produced by the New York Times where a reporter unfamiliar with family hunting traditions follows a New York State father and son on one of the three official New York 14 & 15 year old deer hunting dates.

For them, hunting is about self-sustenance and understanding where food comes from in the age of Food Inc. Hunting is about sitting around the dinner table and telling stories after a long day together in the cold. And it’s about how we often want to honor our parents by being more like them.
