Call Me Ehsaan: A moving documentary on Afghanistan through the eyes of an Air Force language expert (VIDEO)

Call Me Ehsaan, is a short NYT produced documentary on Lt. Col. John Darin Loftis of the Air Force who saw Afghanistan from a unique perspective.  Loftis who spoke Pashto was killed while working in the Afghan Ministry of Interior, reportedly in response to Koran burnings in the United States.

In a letter Colonel Loftis wrote to his daughters prior to deployment, he stated: “My reasons for going to Afghanistan include an honorable sense of duty to help others. If I had stayed home and not volunteered to go, I would have always wondered what I could have contributed.”
