Holy mother of ....we need to ban all pieces of unregistered wood. If you attach an assault knob to a piece of wood, that should be a felony with a minimum sentence of 7 years.

Yup, very dramatic footage. But, you don't even need the wood. You can do the same thing with the finger of your other hand. It takes practice, but once you get it down it works great. I started doing this with my 1911 Colt years ago, except 7 rounds don't last very long!

Yep, works fine with just your off hand finger on a 1911. 9 rounds of .45 in 6/10th. of a second and more controllable.

Does inserting the peg through the finger guard by itself constitute adding a stock, or does the attachment need to be more permanent? In theory, any peg board you hang your pistol on could be considered a "stock" because the board could be braced against the shoulder.

Does the $200 tax need to be paid each time the parts are assembled? If the plank were braced against another part of the body other than the shoulder, would the assembled parts still constitute an SBR? As long as we're searching for the line around the reg, let's define how thick that line actually is.

I found this bit of information:

(8) The term “short-barreled rifle” means a rifle having one or more barrels less than sixteen inches in length and any weapon made from a rifle (whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise) if such weapon, as modified, has an overall length of less than twenty-six inches.

That's the legal definition of an SBR. It says "by alteration, modification, or otherwise." The "otherwise" in this situation could very well be the board with a grip. I am just not sure.

As much as I love the fact that he made the gun fire like a fully-automatic weapon and think that it is cool, I also believe that the gun-control people will take things like this and say "look how easily a standard semi-automatic pistol can be made into a fully-automatic weapon." This will make it easier for them to try to take away even more classes of weapons from us.

What the gun-control people don't understand or care about is the fact that the gun is not the evil part of the equation in any killing, the person behind it is.

I think it has to "Attached" or be attached to the firearm in some way to be a "stock" and there is no attachment what so ever nor does it in anyway alter the weapon or it's function.

The video shows a handgun without an attached stock, thus it is not a rifle. As you mention, the "stock" in this video is nothing more than a board with a grip and a dowel rod sticking out of it. The SBR in the video is rendered a simple handgun by dropping the board.

That's a tough question... is it legal or is it not? I'm not sure.

If, by "nuts," you mean congress, I whole-heartedly agree. As far as killers go, the assembly in the video seems pretty impractical, as the accuracy would be next to zero and reloading would be slow and cumbersome. I am not saying that someone couldn't rip off a bunch of rounds quickly though... I am just saying that they'd be hard pressed to hit their target unless they were pretty close.
