George Zimmerman’s brother descends into confusing racial Twitter rant

Robert Zimmerman, bother of George Zimmerman who is about to stand trial for the shooing of Trayvon Martin, delved into an odd Twitter rant this past weekend. Although his larger point of media bias may have been valid, his examples were confusing and unfortunate. Trying to make comparison of his brothers case to the recent murder of 13 month old Antonio Santiago in Georgia, Zimmerman tweeted a photo Trayvon Martin and De’Marquise Elkins (alleged shooter of Santiago) next to each other both with their middle fingers in the air, with the caption reading “A picture speaks a thousand words. Any questions?”

Making vast generalizations, Zimmerman was expressing how the similar images of Martin and Elkins with their fingers in the air may be a reason why society thinks African Americans are “risky.”
