Liberty Safe has put together a cool new wireless safe alarm that will contact you if anyone moves, jostles or opens your safe. The SafElert is a small electronic unit that keeps you up to date on the status of your valuables, and works with any safe, not just Liberty Safe models.
The SafElert will even send you weekly humidity status reports to let you know if it’s time to change out your safe’s desiccant if you need any, and it will notify you of sweeping temperature changes in case of a fire or flood.
The unit is battery powered, running off two included AA cells. Liberty Safe gives the SafElert about a year on a pair of regular batteries, and the unit will notify you when they’re running down and need changing.
This really adds a layer of security and piece of mind regarding your safe.
The unit needs some support infrastructure. It requires a wireless router and a networked device to operate, whether it’s a computer, tablet, smartphone, etc. It also requires a monitoring account with Liberty Safe. In case the device can’t connect to your wireless router through your safe, Liberty Safe also includes a wired antenna that you can run to the exterior of your safe for better range and stronger connectivity.
The rest of the specifications are:

The SafElert runs $200 and the account $60 for one year, $100 for two years and $120 for three. But it comes with a month of free “Elertus” service to get you started.
The Elertus is a cloud-based service that you can connect with five different people or devices, ensuring that if the SafElert needs to get a hold of you, it can send you a text message, email you at work and home and get in touch with a family member.
If you’re looking to add some brains to your safe, this is pretty cool way to go. It’s priced fairly well, and you don’t have to have a lot in your safe to make this pay for itself in case anything happens to your safe. For all the details, hit up the product page.
