Soldier’s “Coming Home,” Wins Google’s 2013 Design Contest (PHOTOS)

Nearly 130,000 submissions and millions of votes later, Sarbrina Brady of Sparta, WI has been named the 2013 U.S. Doodle 4 Google National Winner.

K-12 students across the nation submitted creative uses of the “Google” letters to illustrate the theme, “My Best Day Ever.” Sabrina’s “Coming Home,” tells the story of her reunion with her father after an 18-month deployment in Iraq.

In addition to seeing her winning design featured on Google’s homepage today, Sabrina, a senior at Sparta High School, will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a Chromebook computer and a $50,000 technology grant for her school. Not too shabby for a 17-year-old’s doodle.
