An unexploded bomb left over from World War II was destroyed by a bomb squad in Tokyo, Tuesday.
The bomb was found at a construction site and left crowds of commuters stranded as local lines and long-range bullet trains that link with the Japanese capital were halted as a safety precaution.
The rusty bomb was reportedly Japanese and about 40 centimeter long. No one was injured.
The areas in and around Tokyo were heavily bombed before Japan’s 1945 surrender that ended the war. And apparently a large amount of unexploded ordinance is continually found as a result of American duds and hidden Imperial Japanese caches.
