Prisoner Thanks NRA, Promises to “Stop at Gun Show” when Released

An inmate who identifies himself as Gary W. Bornman, wrote an open letter to the National Rifle Association thanking them for opposing background checks so he can illegally buy a firearm when he’s released.

Bornman sent the letter to The Courant, a Hartford, Connecticut, newspaper June 6 and claims to be holed up for bank robbery and weapons violations. Thanking the NRA for lobbying Congress in order to block recent gun control measures, Bornman writes:

“I, along with tens of thousands of other criminals, couldn’t do what we do without you.”

Apparently Bornman plans to hit up a gun show upon his release in order to buy weapons sans background checks.

“I fully anticipate being able to stop at a gun show on my way home to Connecticut,” writes Bornman.
