Last week South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley visited FN Manufacturing and what’s a trip to a firearms manufacturer without a little firepower fun?
Of course, the trip wasn’t purely for entertainment, there was a little business mixed with pleasure. “We came to celebrate another one of our manufacturers,” Haley said, referring to the company as “a source of pride.” She spoke with executives specifically about the business climate and to see that everything the state can do to boost business is being done.
“FN Manufacturing is one of South Carolina’s great manufacturers and represents the kinds of companies that are thriving in our state!” Haley stated on her Facebook page. And the state continues to thrive as PTR Industries announced last month they are leaving Connecticut and headed to the Palmetto State to set up shop.
Haley explained that the visit to FN Manufacturing was especially personal. “Michael and his unit are equipped with M4s, M240s, and M249s — firearms made right here in South Carolina! They employ 500+ people and have been a staple in our state for decades,” she said. Her husband, Michael, is in the National Guard and was deployed to Afghanistan earlier this year.
And, of course, Haley concluded her tour with a testing of a variety of guns. “I did get a chance to fire a gun — a few, quite a few — and it was a good time, a good stress relief, and I did it in heels!,” she said.
