What it looks like to be aboard an AC-130 gunship during a live fire exercise (VIDEO)

The Lockheed AC-130U Spooky gunships are not to be trifled with and neither are the crew.

Armed with a 25mm GAU-12 Equalizer that can rain down 1,800 rounds per minute, a Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft autocannon, and a 105mm M102 Howitzer that drops an earth-shattering 33-pound shell, this turboprop can destroy, demolish and otherwise remove from the face of the earth any target it rests its sights on.

But the flying behemoth isn’t all automation. The Spooky requires its crew to operate likely a finely tuned watch. This video displays just a small portion of the intense teamwork required to get the gunship in the air, keep her flying, and make sure rounds get on target.

Airman 1st Class Stephen Ellis Hurlburt captured this incredible footage during a live fire training exercise from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
