A grenade thrown by Thai anti-government protestors killed one police officer and injured several others during the ongoing demonstrations.
Thai police claimed that not only did protestors throw a grenade, but used snipers to fire on them. However, police also fired live rounds, BBC reports.
Nearly 15,000 police officers moved to overtake official sites and sieged buildings that protestors have captured.
While police and protestors have engaged in negotiations, the atmosphere remains tense.
