NRA News commentator and former U.S. Navy SEAL Dom Raso talks about the “Assault Rifle” and explains some common misconceptions about its “widespread” use.
Raso consults with his friend and SWAT officer Jerry to find out just how frequently a typical law enforcement officer encounters the “scary” AK or AR platform while on patrol. As it turns out, it’s very seldom.
Jerry argues that laws against AR platform rifles only apply to those willing to abide by them, or the average citizen, and says criminals don’t exactly adhere to the law. He adds that “assault weapons” aren’t even the preferred weapon of the everyday criminal.
