A Brentwood, New Hampshire, house went up in flames and exploded after a shooting Monday afternoon that left a police officer dead.
According to authorities, police responded to an incident at a house in a 55-and-up community where a father and his adult son were arguing. When police responded, a 48-year-old officer was fatally shot by the son, who later died in the fire.
Firefighters didn’t immediately respond to the scene due to the gravity of the situation, but a SWAT vehicle remained stationed just outside. While being filmed on live television, the burning house violently exploded.
According to Debra Vasapolli, director of public relations at Exeter Hospital, one person was transported to the hospital, but did not suffer from a gunshot wound.
