Just days after the Twin Towers fell on September 11, 2001, EarthCam CEO Brian Cury installed a webcam to record the rescue and recovery efforts, as well as the later rebuilding construction of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
Construction on the 9/11 Memorial & Museum started in 2004 and was finished in 2014. In that decade the camera tirelessly rolled, and footage was selected from over 1 million images to create a two and a half minute long time-lapse.
“I hope this time-lapse serves as a way to recognize that for the 10 years of construction, there was a constant progress made to rebuild these important 16 acres of America,” Cury wrote in the video description.
