Marshall Harmon, 71, and his 32-year-old son got into an argument near their Walnut Hill home around 7:20 Friday night when suddenly, the son hopped on a riding lawnmower and took off down the road, local media reports. Harmon started up his truck and pursued his son.
Harmon quickly caught up and pulled alongside the lawnmower. He fired two shots at his son, hitting him once in the neck.
The son was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola to be treated for his non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Harmon was arrested and booked into the Escambia County Jail. He was charged with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and his bail was set at $25,000.
