Nine people were found dead after reports of a shooting Thursday evening in Tyrone, Missouri, the Missouri Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The Texas County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call last night at 10:15 about a disturbance involving a weapon. Responding deputies found two people dead at the house where the call was made, the caller fled to a neighbor’s house for safety.
During the initial investigation, deputies found five more bodies and one additional victim who was wounded in two neighboring houses. And they also found another body of an elderly woman who appeared to have died from natural causes. The wounded victim brought to a nearby hospital.
The alleged suspect, a 36-year-old man from Tyron, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a vehicle in a neighboring county.
Missouri authorities will reveal more details at a news conference this morning.
