After his wife had left the house with their two children, Raul Gonzalez was watching TV Monday morning when he heard movement outside on his back patio. Moments later, he heard another noise in his 2-year-old son’s bedroom, so Gonzalez grabbed a machete and went to investigate.
In his son’s room, he discovered someone crawling through the window. At that point Gonzalez began yelling some “bad words,” according to his own account, and proceeded to chase after the two suspects with the giant blade in hand.
Although authorities later found a mask, gloves and a sweater, the suspects got away and no one was injured, but Gonzalez said he plans to beef up security in his home.
“I’m going to put in security cameras,” he said, “And buy a gun.”
