Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty released dramatic video recently of a March 11 incident that led to Cleveland police officers fatally shooting a 64-year-old man.
In the videos, one of the officers, David Muniz, who had already been shot by the suspect only to have his vest deflect the bullet, can be heard pleading with Theodore Johnson to drop his weapon before four other officers open fire on Johnson. The shooting was later determined to be justified.
Officers were originally called to the scene after receiving a 911 call from Johnson’s wife, who said he was threatening to kill her and their landlord.
