Donning orange jumpsuits, members of University of South Alabama Students for Concealed Carry held a protest on campus this week.
While students and visitors in neighboring Mississippi can carry on campus with a permit, Alabama is one of a number of states that ban the practice.
The group held their demonstration garbed as crooks to point out that the university’s gun free zone mandate only stops law abiding gun owners.
Afterward, they presented a petition with 800 signatures to student government asking school administrators to look into changing the current firearms restrictions.
The University of South Alabama, in Mobile, has an enrollment of over 16,000.
Meanwhile, students and faculty at Texas universities are doing the opposite and rallying to keep state mandated concealed carry off campus.
