Controversial former U.S. Attorney Gen. Eric Holder is featured in a new ad endorsing Hillary Clinton for president saying, “Hillary is pushing hard for tougher gun laws.”
The former AG, who served alongside Clinton for a number of years in the Obama administration’s cabinet, has been appearing alongside Clinton in South Carolina in an effort to help sway public opinion towards the former Secretary of State.
“This is a woman who’s fought her whole life for children, to protect civil rights, voting rights, and today Hillary is pushing hard for tougher gun laws and police accountability,” says Holder, vouching for the candidate he has known for 25 years.
“If you want to make sure Republicans don’t take us backward, help Hillary move us forward,” he continues.
Of course, Holder is the only cabinet member in U.S. history to be held in contempt of Congress over his role in the ATF’s Fast and Furious gun walking scandal, so there’s that.
“When Republicans weren’t going after President Obama, they were coming after me as attorney general,” he admits.
The South Carolina primary is set for Saturday, February 20.
