A group of youngsters were recently put to the test in Iowa to see how they would react if they found a gun, and their actions left some parents shocked and saddened.
The experiment was conducted by local law enforcement and used a fake handgun. It took the children just 15 seconds to find the gun before they started passing it around and pointing it at each other. Some parents watched in horror as their children aimed the gun at other kids and attempted to pull the trigger.
However, there were two kids in the group who never attempted to touch the gun or become involved in such play. Those kids had previously been taught gun safety in their own homes.
The experiment was concluded with officers talking to the kids about possible dangers and safety measures that should be observed when a gun is around.
