An attempted robbery at a Maplewood, Missouri, business last week failed miserably when the store owner realized the pistol carried by the suspect wasn’t even a real weapon, but in fact, a multi-colored water gun.
Authorities say the suspect, Amanuel Perkins, walked into the Sole Survivor Leather store, aimed the “weapon” at the clerk and demanded money. But when the clerk figured out the gun was fake, he simply shoved the suspect out of the door and called the police.
Perkins was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree robbery, but claims the charges are bogus because it was all just a St. Patrick’s Day joke.
