Springfield Armory’s booth at the 145th NRA Annual Meeting in Louisville had a number of new products on display ranging from their Chris Kyle legend series 1911 to a host of updated XDs.
SA’s XD Mod.2 4″ Threaded Service Model accepts 9mm (and up) cans right out of the box and comes complete with high-profile suppressor sights, flat dark earth frame and Melonite slide. (Photos; Chris Eger/Guns.com)
A Mod.2 4″ Service Model is coming with a Tactical Gray finish, which is new for the XD line. There is also a new single stack XD(S) in the same battleship-like finish.
Their OSP (Optical Sight Pistol) line comes correct with a fiber optic front sight, white dot rear and Vortex Venom.
…Which looks so sweet when installed.
SOCOM 16 CQB M1A rifles…
Springfield’s Lightweight Champion series will have a 4-inch EMP offering which of course translates to an increased sight radius while still shying away from being a full-sized GI model – but this is a 9-shot .40S&W. Because apparently this is something people want (?)
Speaking of full-size, Springer’s 1911 Range Officer now comes in a sweet stainless model with a mix of upper-end features (extended beavertail, adjustable rear sights, skeli trigger, etc) without the corresponding custom gun price point.
And the Chris Kyle TRP Operator series, limited to a special run of 5,000 guns in a tribute to American Sniper and Navy Seal Chris Kyle.
Kyle carried a similar TRP Operator in Fallujah in 2004.
Gun #1 of the series is being auctioned on Gunbroker with all proceeds to benefit the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation. Taya Kyle will be on hand Saturday to present the gun to the winning bidder, should they be in Louisville.
