A home invasion suspect was dropped off at a Tulsa emergency room with a gunshot wound after he was shot while breaking into a woman’s home Sunday night.
Two men apparently forced their way into the home, but were confronted by the female homeowner, who warned them that she was armed. The two suspects ignored her warning and continued to advance toward her. She, in turn, opened fire, striking one of the suspects, while sending them both fleeing in a white four-door car.
That same car was seen a few minutes later at a local hospital while the injured suspect was unloaded. The second suspect remains at large.
Authorities said it appears to have been a random break-in, and the idea has some area residents feeling a little uneasy.
“I went to the QuikTrip and when I came back, there was just a bunch of people outside,” said Calvert, who just moved to the neighborhood less than two months ago.
Calvert said the break-in has her “a little nervous” and wanting to keep a more watchful eye.
