The Winston-Salem Police Department’s monthly news briefing last Wednesday was wrapped up with a “Good Citizen” award, recognizing the efforts of a citizen who recently offered aid to an officer in need.
When Adrian McFadden saw the officer pinned to the ground being hit by the suspect standing over him, he did not hesitate to intervene. McFadden struggled with the suspect, getting him off of the officer, who was then able to safely place the suspect in custody.
The incident occurred outside of a Food Lion grocery store while the officer was attempting to arrest the suspect on several outstanding warrants.
