The Mr.Gear YouTube channel walks you through turning a pencil, a couple inches of wire, 9V battery and connector, and two screws into a pocket matchstick launcher.
Of course you also need access to a drill, soldering gun, and a glue gun– but odds are you probably have all of these somewhere in the house or can find them.
Using the pencil as a tube, the 9V is an electrical ignition to some Armstrong’s mixture (borrowed in this case from cap gun caps) and you can get creative with the matchstick projectiles. Could probably launch toothpicks as well, but the splinter factor could suck.
