Internet gun gurus let it rain on the new Gen 4.5 (Gen 5?) Glock. Out is polygonal rifling and finger grooves, in is a beveled magazine well and ambi slide stop.

With the genie of the new gatt let out of the bottle being by Soldiers Systems and TFB earlier on Tuesday, former Delta assaulter Larry Vickers of Vickers Tactical and Tim Harmsen at the Military Arms Channel dropped what they knew on social media.

In good news for those with stacks-o legacy G17 mags, Tim says that, “While the magazines for the 17M are slightly different than a Glock 17 Gen 1-4 mag, the older mags will still lock into and work properly in the 17M. I fired the gun with a Gen 1 magazine.”

He also notes the gun has a button rifled barrel with traditional lands and grooves, a departure from Glock’s polygonal rifling.

Well Tim says he has a video pending and you can bet that every firearms aficionado in the biz is looking to get something out on this new Austrian polymer update, but until then, enjoy the images courtesy of Vickers Tac above, and MAC below.
