Milsurp gem: The Hungarian PA-63 pistol (VIDEO)

The alloy-framed FEG PA-63 dates back to the bad old days of the Cold War and is a little recognized but easily acquired blowback-action pistol.

As reviewed by Eric with IV8888 above, the PA-63 was a single-stack Makarov PM/Walther PPK-ish pistol that used aluminum to speed up manufacturing for a weapon that was designed to be “carried often and shot rarely” and was used by Hungarian police and military for generations. While some are chambered in .32ACP and .380, the one used by Eric is a more commonly encountered 9x18mm Makarov.

And it’s kinda cool in an Eastern Bloc way– and he trusts it enough to carry it on a semi-regular basis.
