Distributed by French motion picture company EuropaCorp– who brought you such hits as “Being W” and “Human zoo”– comes a movie about a gun control lobbyist.
Jessica Chastain plays Elizabeth Sloane, who from the looks of the trailer is all about surprising a 5 million strong gun rights organization to pass new gun control laws. According to IMDb, “Miss Sloane” also includes Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alison Pill, Jake Lacy, John Lithgow, and Sam Waterston.
According to the imfdb, Chastain has appeared in a number of films packing heat that ranged from flintlock pistols to a Beretta M70 with a threaded barrel (gasp) and a Browning Hi-Power.
Now, for an upcoming movie you may actually watch in which the hero eschews firearms for their own reasons, here is “Hacksaw Ridge,” based on the real-life expoloits of unarmed Army medic Cpl. Desmond T. Doss, a Seventh-day Adventist conscientious objector in the 77th Infantry Division who picked up the Medal of Honor for saving the lives of over 75 of his brothers during the Battle of Okinawa, one by one.
