The Chicago Police Department has a suspect in custody for the brutal, broad day robbery and shooting of a 71-year-old man as he watered the lawn outside of his Chicago home earlier this month.
The victim was tending to his lawn when he was approached by two suspects who demanded money. The man refused to give it up, so the suspects took the man’s wallet, shot him in the abdomen, then left him bleeding in the street as they fled on bicycles. The incident was captured on a neighbor’s security camera.
But on Saturday, US Marshals Great Lakes Task Force arrested 30-year-old Antoine J. Davis outside of his home. Davis is facing charges for armed robbery and aggravated battery, both felonies.
