A group of professional clowns who are fed up with the negative rap they’ve gained recently – thanks to some sort of creepy clown sighting craze that’s hit the country – are organizing a “Clown Lives Matter” march in Tucson later this week.
The event will be Friday, October 15, at 6:30 p.m. Those attending the march are encouraged to wear full clown garb, including makeup and masks. Red noses and large shoes are not required, but certainly welcome.
Those who support the event, most of who are professional clowns, are coming together as a “peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers.” According to an event flyer, professional clowns “want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid.” Event coordinators encourage families to join in the fun, “meet a clown and get a hug.”
