A man who is the suspect in a child indecency case was shot in the face with his own gun last week after he went to the victim’s San Antonio home and demanded to be let inside.
Reports indicate the teen and his mother heard their dog barking and when the 17-year-old boy walked outside he discovered Leonard Trevino, 56, hiding under the stairs of their deck. Trevino was armed with a handgun, threatened to kill the teen and demanded they go into the house.
The teen appeared to do as Trevino instructed, but as they neared the back door, he turned around and began fighting with Trevino. During this time, the teen was able to wrestle the gun away from Trevino, then shot him in the face.
Trevino and the teen, who was struck in the head multiple times, were transported to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Both are expected to be OK.
Trevino was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as well as retaliation.
Although the victim was not identified, the address where last week’s assault occurred is the same address listed in the child indecency case.
