Browning’s Automatic Rifle celebrates its 100th anniversary and the iconic company behind the BAR commemorates the occasion by offering a new BAR Safari anniversary model.

Commissioned by the U.S. Army in 1917, John M. Browning designed the original BAR in just three months. BAR models served from World War I until the Vietnam War.

The BAR Safari 100th Anniversary design includes a steel receiver with polished blued finish. Special gold engravings on the right side illustrate military scenes while the left side showcases hunting scenes. The stock is a Grade V Turkish Walnut with an oil finish.

The blued barrel measures 22-inches long while the rifle sports an overall length of 43-inches. Weighing just over 7 pounds, the BAR Safari is chambered in 30-06 Spfld.

Browning is limiting production to only 100 rifles which come with a limited edition commemorative box sleeve. The BAR Safari Anniversary model is priced at $2,699.99.

In addition to the anniversary model, Browning adds three more BAR rifles to the lineup including the BAR MK 3 DBM, BAR MK 3 Stalker and BAR MK 3 in Mossy Oak Break-Up Country.

The MK 3 DBM’s matte black finish extends to the composite stock and forearm. The 18-inch barreled rifle comes with a 10-round detachable magazine and integrated Picatinny rail scope mounts. Chambered in .308 Win, the MK 3 DBM retails for $1,469.99.

The Stalker model also features a matte black finish on the receiver, while the Mossy Oak version features the Break-Up Country camo pattern. Both rifles are chambered in several calibers from 243 Win to 300 Win Mag. Barrel lengths range from 22 inches up to 24 inches, based on caliber. The BAR MK Stalker starts at $1,269.99 with prices extending to $1,359,99. The MK 3 in Mossy Oak ranges from $1,379,99 to 1,499,99.
