Winchester Ammunition dropped several new products in their ammo lineup for 2017, including two new variants in their Deer Season and Varmint X hunting themed ammo lines.

The popular Deer Season XP series received two new calibers — the 6.5 Creedmoor and .223 Rem.

The 6.5 Creedmoor uses a 125 grain polymer tipped bullet, rated at 2,850 feet per second at the muzzle. The ,223 round uses a lightweight, 64 grain polymer tipped bullet. The load is rated at more than 3,000 feet per second at the muzzle.

Both of these rounds are designed to work alongside modern sporting rifles and come 20 rounds to a box. No word on pricing for the new calibers.

The Varmint X line is going lead-free for varmint hunters in areas where lead core projectiles are under fire. Winchester Ammunition’s Varmit X Lead Free line uses a zinc core that is designed to comply with hunting regulations while also remaining affordable.

Priced around $21 per box of 20 rounds of .223, the Varmint X Lead Free line features loads in 17 WSM, 22-250 Rem, 243 Win and .223 Rem.
