Holster maker Alien Gear continues to give concealed carriers more options when it comes to toting guns, announcing the release of the ShapeShift Drop Leg Holster.

While the company is better known for its inside-the-waistband and outside-the-waistband offerings, the new drop leg ushers in a new era for the company and its latest ShapeShift Modular Hoslter System.

Fitting within the ShapeShift family, which debuted at SHOT Show in Las Vegas in January, the modular holster system allows users to purchase a molded shell for their gun which then attaches to different holster bases. The theory is that concealed carrier can buy one shell but have multiple carrying options.

The Drop Leg holster is the latest in the series of innovation on the ShapeShift platform. The holster is a comfortable yet durable design that holds to the shape of the leg, according to Alien Gear. The adjustable straps, which buckle around the leg, are thick but offer a soft texture capable of supporting the weight of a gun or gear. Alien Gear says the Drop Leg is both convenient and presents a “tactical advantage.”

“The process behind the drop leg has been tremendous, and we are thrilled to finally make it available to buy.” Alien Gear Holsters’ designer Jacob Shearer said in a press release. “It is designed to be secure against your thigh while being comfortable for all day use, making it a great way to carry at the range, going hunting, and many other activities.”

The Cloak Mod Drop Leg Holster, ShapeShift Drop Leg Carry Expansion Pack and Drop Leg Mag Carrier are available to consumers. The company says shooters can expect to see over 500 available firearms models on the Cloak Mod holster while customers that already own a Cloak Mod OWB can simply attach it to the ShapeShift Drop Leg Carry Expansion Pack to carry in the drop leg position. Shooters purchasing the ShapeShift Starter Kit will find that everything they need to transform the Drop Leg Carry Expansion Pack into a holster comes with the starter pack. Rounding out the options is a the mag carrier which comes with two mag carriers and can carry up to four total.

The Drop Leg holster’s base price comes in just under $84.
