A female police officer was assaulted by two teens outside of a Taco Bell in Cleveland Thursday night, and the suspects made off with the officer’s service weapon.
“They are cowards and I want to tell them they need to turn themselves in,” an emotional Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said in a press conference. “They need to turn themselves in and get us that weapon back.”
Williams said the officer, who was in full uniform, was working a second job as a security guard at the restaurant and walking a customer to their car when she was approached from behind and attacked. The assault left the officer with facial injuries requiring a trip to the hospital.
The suspects are described as black males, about 17 or 18 years old. Both were wearing hoodies and one had his face covered with a scarf.
