The Browning BT-99 Golden Clays model is a single-shot break-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge.Browning introduced the BT-99 line in 1969 and it now has eight variants. The BT-99 Golden Clays is the deluxe model in the BT-99 line. It includes the patented GraCoil recoil reduction system which is essentially a protruding recoil pad unit that can be adjusted for tension. In addition, the BT-99 Golden Clays features an adjustable comb. For aesthetics, it has gold accents and high-relief engraving and its barrel has silver nitride finish. Three interchangeable choke tubes are also included.
Features include a walnut stock with a glossy finish. It has a back-bored barrel, meaning the bore diameter has been increased. This means less choke constriction is needed in order to achieve an intended shot pattern. It also comes with a Beavertail fore-arm. This style of fore-arm is wider than the standard fore-arm, and may help to absorb recoil.
Browning recommends the Golden Clays for American singles and handicap trap shooting.
