The Chiappa 1911-22 Tactical is a semi-automatic large-frame pistol chambered in .22 LR. The Tactical is a replica of the famous military issued pistol, which is normally chambered for a .45 caliber cartridge. Almost all the features are identical to the M1911 such as weight, size, steel frame, and safety lever and magazine release located on the left side. What makes it different, besides being a .22, is it has a fixed barrel, so the barrel is locked into the frame. Although Chiappa makes other 1911-22s, the Tactical version has two distinct features making it its own gun. First, it has an adjustable Novak rear sight, which is a solid metal piece that slants down and has a groove in the center. The second, it has a threaded barrel so a suppressor can be attached. Chiappa recommends the 1911-22 Tactical for leisure and sport shooting.
