Colt Law Enforcement Carbine

The Colt Law Enforcement Carbine, formerly the AR-15A2 Gov’t Carbine, is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO or .223 Rem. The LE Carbine is specifically designed for military and law enforcement fighting in close quarters. The carbine barrel is shorter than a full barrel, and helps make the rifle lighter and easier to handle. The Carbine is one of nine rifles made by Colt that are intended for law enforcement, obviously.

The LE Carbine features a four-position retractable buttstock. When it’s fully compacted, the gun is less than 30.5 inches and 6.8 pounds. It measures at 35.5 inches when fully extended. It has a barrel measuring 14.5 inches long and it has a step-cut barrel that allows it to accept a grenade launcher for non-lethal options. The LE Carbine utilizes a handguard with dual aluminum shielding for more effective heat protection.

Colt is a famed American gun manufacturer founded in 1836. The company is best known for its revolvers and pistols, but also produces a variety of civilian and military gun designs used all over the world.
