Kel-Tec PLR-16

The Kel-Tec PLR-16 is a semi-automatic large-frame pistol chambered in .223 Rem. or 5.56 NATO. The PLR-16 has a gas-operated piston driven system, where the propellant gases are cycled back through a tube located near the muzzle and then directed onto a piston that drives the bolt back. The PLR-16 is made of a lightweight polymer except for the barrel, bolt, sights, and trigger mechanism, which are steel. Its rear sight is adjustable for windage and the front for elevation, but it also has a Picatinny rail for easy mounting of a scope or sights. It has a threaded muzzle for attaching accessories like a flash hider or muzzle brake. The barrel and rail are bare, but handguards are available. And, the PLR-16 comes with a 10-round magazine, but it can use standard 30-round M16 mags. Kel-Tec recommends the PLR-16 for competitive shooting or hunting.
